Hot Iron is a multilayer and multireference project focusing on three main lines of research: the sale of Catalan Romanesque paintings to American buyers in the early twentieth century, the introduction of American football in Barcelona almost a century later, and a family archive of photographs of Catalan Romanesque churches, which have never been shown in public.

Using film as the principal means of presentation, the exhibition presents an expanded narrative in which everything revolves around intersections between seemingly unrelated events that reveal interconnected global dynamics. Hot Iron is the result of a long process of investigation and of a series of conceptual strategies that Adrià Julià uses to explore the concept of transfer and the impact of economic and cultural relations on the idea of import-export.
