Concert, Performance, Presentation

For the Bluenight of March, Blueproject Foundation offers you a concert by Kenzie Slottow. The flutist and composer adds to the virtuosity of classical music a dreamer scenario inspired by Celtic melodies, sound rings of vocal percussion inspired by the hip-hop and flute special effects on her own songs.

She began composing in 2013 feeling that certain aspects of popular and alternative music had not been used. Her exploration into the world of contemporary and electroacoustic music contributed to her unique percussive and rhythmic style, giving the music a certain character of hip-hop, house and electronica.

She graduated from the universities of Michigan and Texas Austin, keeping her bindings with classical music in the electroacoustic and beatbox for flute. She has played parts in SEAMUS Conference and the National Flute Association Convention. Previously she was a soloist in Coeur d’Alene Symphony and she recorded on Washington State and North Carolina radios and, and she participated in the orchestras of Brevard Music Center Festival and Banff Centre.
