Homesession announces an open call for an artistic residency at art3, Valence (France) during the months of October and November 2020. The call is part of an exchange between art3 and Homesession and aims to encourage the mobility of artists and promote knowledge and interaction between actors in the art sector in both contexts.

The exchange programme with art3 will start in 2014. From the beginning the artists Lola González, Laura Llaneli, Julia Gorostidi, Juke James, Benjamin Collet, Antonin Horquin, Mario Santamaría, Joan Pallé, Adélaïde Feriot, Azahara Cerezo and Thierry Liegeois have benefited from the project.



The call is aimed at active visual artists, residents (or who have completed their higher education) in Catalonia.

Duration of the residency: 2 months, October and November 2020 The artist selected in this call will present his/her work or research to art3 in an exhibition format.

The candidates will deliver a pdf dossier, in a single file, with the following information:

– Letter of motivation and objectives of the residency (maximum 600 words)

-10 to 20 images of recent work, accompanied by the corresponding technical data sheet

– Artistic curriculum and statement

– Links to websites, videos and/or press articles


The exchange covers accommodation in Valence in an apartment made available by art3.

The artist will receive from Homesession, on presentation of the corresponding invoice, an amount of 1800 € gross for fees and travel + 200 € for the production budget), he will also receive 300 € from art3 for the production. (TOTAL GRANT 2.300 €)


Applications will be processed by e-mail with the subject: Art3 application to:

Maximum weight of 4MB per dossier. Dossiers that do not meet the file weight requirement or do not have all the required information will be rejected.

Dossiers can be sent in Catalan, Spanish or English.

Deadline for sending applications: 8 May 2020

Jury Resolution: 25 May 2020


The applications will be reviewed by a commission made up of members of the organisations involved: Sylvie Vojik (art3 director), Olivier Collet (co-director of Homesession). The details of the exchange are regulated by a collaboration agreement that will be signed before production begins and that will be governed by the code of good professional practice in force in Catalonia.
