Ryszard Kapuściński. L’ocàs de l’imperi

Price: Free event

Ryszard Kapuściński’s photographs on exhibit were found some years ago in the private archive of the famous reporter. They date from the period 1989-1991, when the author ran the republics of the former Soviet Union. Ryszard Kapuściński had planned to organize an exhibition of photographs from those trips: personally selected photographs and frames, and then he kept the negatives in brown envelopes, where they remained for several years. The exhibition presented a reduced version, consisting of 36 carefully selected from among the 50 that make up the original sample photographs exhibited in Warsaw. Images attest both Photojournalist talent as the artistic quality of the author. There are photographs including dedicated the historic event marked the failed “August Coup” perpetrated in Moscow, and various snapshots of the trip that led the author through the Russian Empire. Landscapes with houses and cemeteries are complemented by human portraits.
