Hosted by the Pol & Grace Hotel, Las Cosas began an artistic residency on the 9th of October through 16th of November, 2023. The collaboration arose after several months of conversations with the curator Sara Catalán, who offered accompaniment through their desire to approach creation as a living process.
“This residency was born from conversation, care and shared desires. Our proposal today is to start again from this meeting place. After a month and a half living, listening, waiting, searching and putting the body in this hotel, we now want to call on the memory, the stories, those who were already ghosts then, the trapped gestures and the accumulated oblivions.”
Las Cosas are brought together by performative actions committed to the contexts in which they work, for this they resort to long-term and immersive experiences. Listening and waiting are essential to transit and be part of the system that takes them in. It offers them enormous potential for creation, constantly generating new relationships. They position themselves in a non-central place, almost of invisibility, opening themselves to other possible ways of being and sustained between networks of affects.
The activation will consist of a performative action and a visit to the room intervened by the artists. After the activation, we will meet on the terrace to have a drink and chat with the artists, accompanied by the music of DJ Polo.
