La Traginera Comunalitat de Ciutat Vella and Santa Mònica propose a free and open workshop of design and construction of Llums Comuns (“Common Lights”). The aim of this workshop is to design and create lights in community. An opportunity to learn design techniques and the process of production with LEDs.
The workshop consists of two sessions:
Session of creation and design of lights to explore collage and ideation techniques with Teresa Rubio (19.01 / 17h – 20h / Santa Mònica).
Light production session with Curro Claret (20.01 / 10am – 1pm / Impulsem Workshop).
The pieces of lights produced in the workshop will be displayed inside the Santa Mònica from 29 January to 4 February.

This workshop is part of the community project Llums Comuns, which is committed to art and public space as a common good. Currently, also within the framework of Llums Comuns, a light installation based on the work Liberty and Light by the artist Chila Kumari, which was produced at Impulsem, in the Raval neighbourhood, for the Llum BCN 2023 festival, is being exhibited at the centre. Once the exhibition is over, the lights from the installation will be made available to the Raval neighbourhood so that they can be used as a community resource.
