Rosa Tharrats and Gabriel Ventura have conceived this short film as a visual and sound poem to bring out the inner monologue and the dream: Master Cabestany fantasizes about the future sculptures he is preparing for the portal of the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes while reflecting on the his vocation and the mysteries of divinity.
The Master is inspired by three of the miracles that are narrated in the New Testament (the resurrection of Lazarus, the conversion of water into wine and the miracle of the dry hand). An experimental short film indebted to the cinema of Stan Brakhage, Mekas, Maya Deren or Storm de Hirsch.
This project is the result of the residency at Arbar, Center for Art and Nature, in collaboration with Bòlit, Center for Contemporary Art. Girona, by the poet and artist Gabriel Ventura, and the artist Rosa Tharrats who, in addition to her works, is responsible for the costumes for Albert Serra’s films.
