A conversation between historian and Grup de Treball member Antoni Mercader and art critic Victoria Combalía, moderated by curator Patricia Sorroche, around the article published by Antoni Tàpies in La Vanguardia Española on March 14, 1973, titled “Arte conceptual aquí” (“Conceptual Art Here”), which led to the corresponding response from Grup de Treball six months later in the magazine Nueva Lente. This exchange served as the foundation for initiating an intense ideological debate about conceptual art in Spain, addressing its ideology, political commitment, and its ephemeral and procedural aesthetics.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 1, at 18:30 at ADN Galeria, coinciding with the start of the Year Tàpies and the exhibition Distanciamientos: que reste-ils de nous amours? currently on show at ADN Galeria.
