The Arranz-Bravo Foundation ( l’Hospitalet)  hosts the first individual exhibition in a institucional space
dedicated to the photographer Marc Ávila Català (Barcelona, 1992). His work penetrates through
of the post-industrial landscapes, of which he is interested in capturing the most singular accidents and
symbolic, from a tragic and existential point of view.
Following in the wake of creators such as Andrei Tarkovski or Anselm Kieffer, Marc’s photographic work
Ávila is populated with abandoned antennas, disused farms, rusted machinery, structures
failed industries, which remain on the foundations of nature, as it were
they were about prehistoric votive monuments of worship. Marc Ávila is interested in grasping existence
human in depth, which is not an enchanted paradise, but a dimension, rather tragic, where
gloomy loneliness reigns, and a disconnect with our ancestral natural habitat. Existence and
nature are thus intimately linked in his work.
