“ATLES” is a new editorial collection of the Bòlit, Center for Contemporary Art. Girona of artist books that focuses on those artists who have worked hard, lived longer and are eager to review their production and their ideas through open dialogue.

Francis Abbot fold Catalogue’ is not an inventory of works, but it is, in a way. It is not a reasoned catalog, but it is, in a way. It is also not a complete compendium of artistic career, but it is, in a way. It is everything at once and at the same time eschews all compilation genres. Can a collection of careers be as faithful to the spirit of its author as this one? Confederate in l’Armentera, l’Alt Empordà, between 2020 and 2021, if Francesc Abad wanted to “close” his career, he has not come out of it. On the contrary, despite wanting to act with a whole, like a gesture that brings together a totality, it has ended up shaping a new episode, a new chapter to be added into a possible (and future) totality. If we were to move in the realm of rhetoric, we would speak of a synecdoche: although it had to be a part that designated the whole, it has become a new part. Which compiler in use would have dared or seen the need to make an “index of indexes”,

Francis Abbot Trajectory diaries. Fragment of the text of Cristina Masanés included in the publication.
