Mater

The exhibition showcases works by artists Pia Camil, Carolina Caycedo, Catalina León, Cinthia Marcelle, and Marga Ximénez, highlighting their ability to challenge traditional materials and techniques to explore new possibilities. As stated by Chus Martínez in the exhibition text, “Today we know that spiders dream. But many of the artists who have worked with fibers, threads, looms, and fabrics already knew it.” Mater features nine large-scale works that critically address contemporary socio-political themes such as migration and hyper-consumption.
