Between November 15 and 18, artist Natalia Carminati will show her project “Semillas: memorias y metáforas de un cuerpo colectivo” [Seeds: memories and metaphors of a collective body] at Homesession. The project raises how the mechanisms of colonization are revealed in the hegemonic agri-food model, imposing dominant plant species that act by displacing local species and varieties. These movements of deterritorialization not only marginalize seeds and vegetable crops, but also the memory and knowledge of communities that work in a network with the territory and its particular environmental conditions. In this way, free and biodiverse seeds, with their intrinsic capacity to regenerate life, are stripped from their lands, where monocultures of sterile and patented seeds are grown by chemical-pharmaceutical companies that subject nature to their criteria of productivity and economic yield.

In collaboration with projects that work for food sovereignty, the proposal consists of a live installation of forgotten wild species -from a gastronomic perspective- that invites us to connect with the knowledge and flavors of the land. The exhibition will open and close with two performative events on November 15 and 18.
