Together these works make up an extraordinary corpus of proposals created over the years to which Moisès Villèlia gradually added matterist experimentations with often captivating effects. At times, in order to avoid the monotony of the white piece of paper, Villèlia opted to intervene on his sheets in the most diverse ways, applying adhesive tape or shellac to them, daubing them with oil, wrinkling them to generate textures, perforating and punching holes in them, cutting them in the manner of stencils, tearing them or applying collage and all kinds of mixed media to them. He rejected nothing. On the contrary, he retained his compulsion and craving for discovery and experimentation, so much so that he turned paper at times into sculptural material in order to elevate volumes with ethereal qualities, such as those of his mobiles. We are talking, therefore, of countless drawings and works using paper which, ultimately, defy any attempt to systematise them
